Aubree's 5th Birthday

We just celebrated Aubree's 5th birthday on Saturday. She couldn't be more excited. Everywhere we went (and still today) she tells anyone who will listen that she just turned 5 and is starting kindergarten soon. Happy Birthday Aubree we love you!!

Kindergarten

So I realized the other day that my little girl is growing up. We just registered her for kindergarten the other day and it hit me that she is no longer a little baby. Aubree is super excited to start kindergarten and meet her new teacher and make some new friends. I am a little curious to see how it goes because Aubree asked me the other day, "mom why did you put me in kindergarten? I already know everything." The first thing that came to my mind was, "great she's already a teenager." No rest for the weary.

It's official, we just found out we are having a baby girl! We are all so excited!

Life is Wonderful

It has been a really long time since we have updated our blog. We have all been keeping pretty busy, Aubree is in preschool and Gary and I are also in school. But, we thought we weren't busy enough with school, church callings, and two kids so we decided to add to our family another child. Yes, I'm pregnant and miserable with number three due around May 30, 2010 and it can't come quick enough.

Aubree and Nathan love to go to the Temple to play in the grass and smell the flowers. Aubree also likes to go and watch the brides getting their pictures taken and says "mom, someday I'll be a bride and get married in the temple and Nathan can be my husband". I think sometimes she is too grown up.

Our family is an eternal gift from God. We have been blessed greatly in our lives, and along with those blessing come trials. Our family has had several trials and tribulations in the last few months and looking back I can see that they have only strengthened our love for each other and has brought more joy into our home. I feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family and that through our faith we can over come anything.

Grand Canyon

We went to the Grand Canyon over spring break. It was mine and the kids first time going and Aubree was a little scared at first.

Spring training

We went to a spring training game between Oakland/Cleveland. It was way nice

Aubree's Preschool

Aubree started preschool a few weeks ago and is totally loving it. The teacher put her in the older class, she can write all of her letters really well and can write her own name without help. The other day they were learning the letter "p" and they went on a field trip to where else but Peter Piper Pizza and toured the kitchen and made their own little pizzas. Aubree is having so much fun making lots of new friends and learning so much.

Matsuri

We went to a Matsuri (Japanese festival) on Saturday. We ate Japanese food, watched the drummers and Japanese dances. My favorite part was the kimono fashion show they had, the kimonos were all so elegant and beautifully detailed. The kids had a lot of fun seeing the people all dressed up in the kimonos and other crazy Japanese costumes. They also had displays of clothing, Japanese caligraphy, Samuri swords, and art.

Christmas 2008

Aubree and Nathan are so excited about Christmas. Nathan has learned the word santa and says almost every time he sees a picture of him, it is so cute to hear him say it. We finally put a few presents under the tree about a week ago and I was surprised that both of my children haven't messed with them...yet. Aubree and Nathan have also finally quite trying to throw the ornaments across the house, guess they are used to them being out now and have lost interest in them, thank goodness. We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and happy new year.

Gary's Birthday

Gary just finished the second out of three tests for the neuro block at school today and is now running around the house with the kids whom he hasn't seen all week. We will be celebrating his 27 birthday on Sunday at his parents house. A much needed weekend for all in our house.
